In the Garden

In the garden,
the light gentle breeze
shakes the leaves of the
trees near the tall buildings
of Washington Heights, NYC.

In the garden,
the aroma of the flowers
hit me in the nose like you hit a friend with
a pillow in a pillow fight,
except in a good way.

In the garden,
the bug bites may bother
me, but I’m
surrounded by the things
I love and it feels
like home.
