Before I die, I will fulfill my dreams.
I will tell my stories.
Before I die, I will help the homeless.
I will share with those in need.
Before my bones grow old and weak,
before my hands are wrinkled
and I breathe my last breath,
I will sing with the birds in the morning,
and howl with the wolves at nightfall.
Before I die, I will befriend people
so different from me, and yet so similar, in a way.
Before I die, I will run with the horses,
as they prance in sun-drenched meadows.
Before I die, I will turn thorns into roses,
and sadness into hope.
Before I die, I will learn the ways of the universe,
the ways of each other,
and the wondrous wonders
about the very life of living.
Before I die, I will be free.
